Partnerships

partnershipsTo complement the good work being done in classrooms, Tutorpedia collaborates with schools and nonprofits to integrate one‐on‐one tutoring and project-based workshops into existing academic culture.

In education, we know that relationships matter more than anything else, and one‐on‐one instruction is the most effective way to learn. Students who meet with our tutors not only improve in their grades and test scores, but also improve their class participation, attendance, homework completion, and motivation in school.

Tutorpedia’s “Class of One” model is not designed to be a stand‐alone afterschool program isolated from the rest of the student’s school experience, but rather a complementary education service that includes teachers, mentors, parents, school administrators, and expert tutors who are invested in forging positive relationships with their students.

Tutorpedia’s Directors and tutors work closely with schools to develop and implement a customized program that will provide the best support not only to students, but also to the school’s community as a whole.

Core Services for Schools

  • One-on-one tutoring: Tutors can integrate into an existing after-school tutoring program, serve students during study halls or free periods, or provide in-home tutoring to students. Tutors work closely with teachers and school administrators to provide personalized academic, test-prep, and study skills support to each student based on his or her individual strengths and weaknesses.
  • Small group tutoring: Small group tutoring is a great option for partners on a more limited budget
  • Workshops: Tutorpedia offers over 30 project-based workshops for middle and high school students. Workshops are designed to be fun and engaging, but also build essential skills that students can use to strengthen themselves in school, work, and life.

Additional Services

  • Talks: Tutorpedia’s Directors, both experienced educators and graduates of Stanford, Harvard, and Brown, are available to give FREE thought-provoking speaking engagements to schools and parent groups on an array of topics.
  • Scholarships: Tutorpedia is committed to providing the best tutoring services to as many students as possible. In order to accomplish this goal, we are committed to working with partner schools and nonprofits to serve students in need through our nonprofit arm, the Tutorpedia Foundation.

“I have been impressed with Tutorpedia’s understanding of student needs and their ability to assess individual students so as to maximize instructional time. Students who studied with Tutorpedia identified a significant improvement in their test scores and their academic confidence… I couldn’t be more pleased with Tutorpedia’s performance at Sacred Heart Schools. I plan on maintaining my relationship with Tutorpedia and recommend Tutorpedia to my colleagues in other schools in the Bay Area.”
