I am a Bay Area native who, after years of teaching around the world, is glad to be home! After university, I spend a few years teaching Politics, Literature, and English at the college and high school levels in China and Argentina. Between time spent abroad, I returned to San Jose, CA for a year to teach high school World History, Literature, and ESL. A growing interest in educational issues led me to pursue a masters degree in education from Stanford University.

I love learning new things, and try to communicate this excitement for learning to my students. I have a particular passion for languages and literature; I am fluent in Spanish, working hard at Mandarin, and spend most of my free time reading mountains of English literature. As a teacher I believe that, though all learners are different, every student can discover a way to get excited about learning.
