Education:: I began my teaching career while still an undergrad at Vassar College in New York. After choosing Fine Arts as a major, I realized I was equally passionate about music. This led to teaching a harmonica "mini-course" at the school, which went on to sell out the next 3 consecutive years. While on semester breaks, I began teaching cartooning, drawing, and design to kids ages 5 through 15, which I continued after graduation. Soon I moved to San Francisco as a Graphic Designer, began teaching Graphic Design and Web programming at UC Berkeley in 2000, and eventually returned to school for an MFA in animation. Now I'm working and teaching and I'm excited to tutor kids!

My educational philosophy is that anyone can excel in any subject as long as they have a teacher who can demonstrate an effective approach to that subject in a way that works for the student. I love teaching, designing, and writing. When I'm not doing any of those, I try to do the other things I love, which include making music and going surfing.
