Alex is a proud native of Northern California, having been raised in Davis and educated at UC Berkeley (go bears!). In the spring of 2010, Alex graduated with a BA in History, a minor in Public Policy, and a zeal for service. At Berkeley, Alex helped establish The Music Connection, a campus volunteer organization that recruited college musicians to tutor music at underserved schools in the Berkeley Unified School District. Alex has also held internships at multiple levels of government, working for the Office of the Mayor of Sacramento, the California State Assembly, and the U.S. House of Representatives Energy and Commerce Committee. These experiences have made Alex a firm believer in the importance of youth empowerment and community engagement in strengthening our civic infrastructure. In his spare time, Alex plays sax, tries to experience all of the beautiful views around the Bay Area, and roots for the California Golden Bears!
