SES Data

Between 2007 and 2009, Tutorpedia worked with seven Bay Area school districts as a state approved SES provider. In this time,

  • Tutorpedia provided over 4,400 hours of free tutoring
  • Tutorpedia worked with over 200 low-income students
  • Tutorpedia served 20 Title 1 schools in seven districts (Alameda, Berkeley, Oakland, Ravenswood, San Francisco, San Mateo, and South San Francisco)
  • Tutorpedia students’ grades improved on average ½ to 1 full letter grade (depending on hours of tutoring)
  • Tutorpedia students’ test scores (STAR) improved on average 5-10% (depending on hours of tutoring)
  • Tutorpedia students reported improved confidence, motivation, work ethic, homework completion, class attendance
