Our Advisory Board meets twice a year to brainstorm big picture goals, and how to implement them on both a short-term and long-term basis. Our Board is comprised of leading intellectuals and entrepreneurs from the education, business, and nonprofit sectors.

Kyle Beckham - Social Studies teacher, Downtown High School

Born in Virginia, Kyle Beckham was a military brat who grew up all over the united States, but calls California home. Education has always been one of the most important things in his life, as has giving back to others. A graduate of Yale University and Brown University's Masters of Arts in Teaching program, Kyle has been a public school teacher in the Bay Area for the last seven years with teaching credentials in Social Studies and Special Education. His focus has been on alternative education, with a particular commitment to securing access to quality education for marginalized communities. He currently teaches Humanities at Downtown High School, a continuation high school that primarily serves low income students of color. He is the secretary of his school's leadership team, the school's union representative and a member of the San Francisco Unified School District's Committee for the Implementation of Ethnic Studies. He has significant experience in curriculum development, teacher training and teacher mentorship.


Charles Hudson - VP of Business Development, Serious Business

Charles Hudson is VP of Business Development for Serious Business, a leading social games developer. He was formerly the Sr. Director for Business Development at Gaia Interactive, the fastest growing online hangout for teens. Prior to Gaia, Charles worked in New Business Development at Google and focused on new partnership opportunities for early-stage products in the advertising, mobile, and e-commerce markets. Prior to joining Google, he was a Product Manager for IronPort Systems, a leading provider of anti-spam hardware appliances that was acquired by Cisco Systems for $830 million in 2007.

Charles spent several years working at In-Q-Tel, the strategic venture capital group for the Central Intelligence Agency. While at In-Q-Tel, he focused on identifying investment opportunities that could deliver significant value to the CIA and the commercial market in both the short and long term.Charles Hudson holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a B.A. in Economics and Spanish from Stanford University.


Daniel Kaufman - President, One Percent Foundation

Daniel works in Sacramento, California as the Founder of 360 Philanthropy Advisors, a philanthropic advisory and consulting firm. Prior to starting 360, Daniel worked as the General Counsel for Revolution Prep, an educational services and products company, and as an associate at Heller Ehrman, LLP in San Francisco. Previously, Daniel served as a Legislative Assistant for the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism and the Interfaith Alliance, working on issues ranging from campaign finance reform to foreign policy. Daniel has a J.D. from UCLA School of Law and a B.A. from Stanford University. He and his wife, Talia, are raising their daughter, Mia, to be a diehard Sacramento Kings fan.


Mark Won (co-founder of Tutorpedia) - VP of International Sales, Orbit Baby

Mark Won is a co-founder of Tutorpedia. Currently, he is International Sales Manager for Orbit Baby, a leading manufacturer of strollers and car seats. Prior to joining Orbit Baby, Mark spent several years in the affordable housing and community development field. He was formerly the Public Policy Manager for the City of San Francisco Mayor's Office of Housing and worked for leading Bay Area nonprofit organizations including East Bay Alliance for a Sustainable Economy, Non-Profit Housing Association of Northern California, and the Unity Council. Mark has a B.A. in Economics and History from Stanford University and a Master of City Planning from the University of California Berkeley.
